Feature stages

Dynamo AI uses four different stages for the features: Alpha, Beta, Generally Available (GA) and Deprecated. The following is the summary of each level:

Alpha

  • Definition: Early-stage feature under active development.
  • Availability: May be available to a limited set of customers upon request.
  • Stability: Subject to breaking changes or removal without notice.
  • Support: Limited to best-effort assistance.
  • Use Case: Experimental, not recommended for production workloads.

Beta

  • Definition: Feature is more stable and closer to General Availability.
  • Availability: Available to more customers, may require opt-in.
  • Stability: API and functionality may change but with minimal disruption.
  • Support: Limited support with no SLA guarantees.
  • Use Case: Suitable for testing and limited production use cases with caution.

General Availability (GA)

  • Definition: Fully supported and production-ready feature.
  • Availability: Enabled for all customers.
  • Stability: Backward-compatible changes only; deprecation will be fully communicated in advance.
  • Support: Full support with Dynamo AI SLAs.
  • Use Case: Recommended for all production workloads.

Deprecated

  • Definition: Feature is removed or scheduled for removal after a specific version.
  • Availability: Not available after a specific version.
  • Stability: Feature will not be available.
  • Support: Migration plans are provided to production use cases.
  • Use Case: Existing customers should transition to alternative solutions.
